The Monument to Ivan Fedorov is located in the central part of the city on the Podvalna Street not far from the Dominican Cathedral. Ivan Fedorov is the first printer on the territory of Ukraine.
The monument was installed on November 26, 1977 to honor the 400th anniversary of the book printing in Ukraine. The square around the monument is the biggest second-hand bookseller market in Lvov.
The monument is located near the place where in the XVI century the printing house of Lvov was located. Ivan Fedorov is deicted holding a book in his one hand and he is sowing the grains with his other hand.
